2010 Kickoff

Today we got together to watch the kick off event live from FIRST. It was a great day with most of the team members turning up to find out what we have to achieve in the short weeks to come. We had a little snag today that we had to leave the college a little earlier, how ever we managed to find a nice snug office to watch the kick off, thank you to Keith Seymour for letting us use his office.

For those of you that didn't watch the kick off, here is the basic low down:

The aim of the game is basically to play football, we have to "kick" balls into goals, however we do have a few interesting obsticles in our way, on the field there are ramps that need to be navigated to get over, or in one place through a tunnel.

To add some more excitement at the end of the round, if you manage to have your robot in the air, you get extra points, and if you have another robot lifting you even more.

That's the basis to the competition this year which looks challenging and exciting. The next week is going to be a long one for us, coming up with a design that can complete this task. We will keep you updated as time goes on.
